Ruth

Ruth is our Office Manager and team coach. She says she works in the veterinary field for the entertainment value and our patients can be very entertaining. She likes people almost as much as she likes animals. She lives with her 2 dogs, Dylan and Wolf and 3 cats, Marley, Churchill and Elizabeth.

Heidi

Heidi, our German Shorthaired Pointer was a parking lot castoff. She generally works here as our greeter. (We haven't seen her greet anyone yet!) Her watch dog instincts seem to be non-existent. Mostly she sleeps all day and occasionally she gets up when forced to by her dad Dr. Arnott. She is not our hardest working employee but we love her. She got the job because she looks good.

Harry

Say "Hi" to Harry the newest member of the Oak Tree family. If you stop by I'm sure you'll find him in your lap, going through your purse, knocking your pen off of the counter or just generally making you feel at home. A gift from our friends at Witman Manor Maine Coon, he has some very big paws to fill as the official Watch Cat of Oak Tree. So please come by and say hello to the newest miscreant of the Oak Tree Staff.

Janice

Janice has been working at Oak Tree for 10 years. She has been in the veterinary field since 1975, before leaving the field to raise her family.

Janice and her husband, Harlan have 3 wonderful children. Noah, a UC Berkeley graduate, is now in a Masters’ program at San Diego State University. Nathan, who works with wildlife and works part-time for Fremont Urgent Care, and Autumn who just graduated from Stanford University this past spring.

They are proud owners of one lab and 4 cats. The newest, a 23 year old Burmese named Minou and Angel, their congenital heart defect kitten who has now celebrated her 6 th birthday!

Sheri

Sheri joined our staff over five years ago when her last son flew the coop. She lives in Danville with her husband Steve and her cat Jordie. They have two sons, Michael 26 and Richard 24. Michael is married to Brittney and they have a beautiful daughter, Lilly who is 6 years old. Michael is currently transitioning from the Marines to the Army to further serve our Country. Richard is married to Stephanie and they too have a beautiful daughter, Madelynn who is almost 2 years old. Richard is still serving his Country as a Marine and is currently stationed in San Diego, awaiting orders for another deployment. Sheri and Steve are very proud of both their sons’ service. Since Sheri and Steve are empty nesters, they now have a Cougar 5th wheel and strive to enjoy life to the fullest by scheduling several camping trips a year with their family and friends.

Glenyse

Glenyse works part time at Oak Tree. Growing up in Northern California, she obtained a degree in Theater, and moved to New York, to try her hand at Broadway. She has also worked in the computer world. She enjoys photography and painting, you can view her excellent work at her website. This spring she had a successful showing of her work at the Wente gallery. She and her partner Mellissa celebrated 10 years together cruising the Greek Isles and Turkey. They have 3 cats, Wolfie, Bella, and Norman. They also have a dog named Luke.

Jill

Jill grew up here in Danville. She lives here with her 61/2 year old son Nicholas and her wonderful fiancé Mike. She recently celebrated 14 years of bartending at Meenar. She helps Ruth in the back with bookkeeping, but if she greets you with a drink here at Oak Tree, smile and remember she makes a mean Man O War or Sweet Tart. Her 3 dogs, Poncho, Roxy, and Mac (the pug with attitude) have gone into landscaping - doing quite a spectacular job on Jill's yard!

Jarrod

Jarrod is our newest volunteer/technician. You may remember seeing him as strong safety #40 of the Oakland Raiders! He has an amazing rapport with animals!! Jarrod spends countless hours volunteering at the Oakland Animal Shelter and has recently blessed us with his gracious smile and strong but gentle arms! He is the founder of an animal rescue organization, Help Code 597, names after the California Penal Code for animal abuse and neglect. His website is helpcode597.org. He also plans on running a series of football training camps for aspiring high school athletes.

In recognition of his work with animals, he has been chosen to be a presenter at the 2009 Genesis Awards. We are incredibly proud to have him with us.

Jonathan

Jonathan is a Native Californian, born in LA. He moved to the Bay Area in 1989, just in time for the earthquake (coincidence?) He lived in England for 3 years until they sent him back. He was lured to the dark side and became an avid snowboarder. He declares himself single and not officially dating (his girlfriend does not read the website). He enjoys spending time at the beach and playing with Cairo his Pit Bull/Dingo mix. He's been in the veterinary field for 4 years and hopes to continue to advance his career. We are all very happy to have him on our team.

Lynn

Lynn has been part of our staff for two years and has come to us from Wisconsin where she got her BS in Dairy science/ pre-veterinary. She worked in the dairy cattle field for 5 years. She says her favorite thing was delivering calves ( even in the middle of the night in winter). While working at a small animal clinic in Wisconsin, the office manager introduced Lynn to her future husband Eric (the office manager's son). Wow, talk about a full service hospital. They now have been married for three years. They moved out here to California with Atom, their miniature schnauzer and Tinker and Hop-E their cats. Eric is attending UC Berkeley for his PhD in chemistry. To keep herself busy while Eric is out working Lynn started a side business with Mary Kay as a beauty consultant. She has enjoyed helping women with their skin care and cosmetic needs for three years. This business has helped fund Lynn and Eric’s travel aspirations. The most recent trip is one to Italy. Lynn and Eric also enjoy playing intramural softball at Berkeley and are said to be a great double play combo. For any Mary Kay skin care or cosmetic needs please contact Lynn at, her website or email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Shelly

Our new receptionist, Shelly, grew up in a very small town in central Washington called Soap Lake, whose population dropped 50% when she moved out. She graduated from Washington State University this December with a BS in Animal Science/Pre-Vet and is now living in the Bay Area. She is very proud of her siblings. Her older brother Zachary is a bull rider on the Pro Rodeo Circuit, which is great because she now works with a group of experts at throwing the bull. Her sister, Constance is a pastry chef (we’ll be looking for her on Cupcake Wars). Her youngest sister, Julia is only 8 and is a spitting image of Shelly. She loves being part of a close-knit family and enjoys being at the rodeos, in the kitchen, or on the lake wake boarding. She loves basketball and football and expects to moonlight as a Warrior’s Girl soon. Come in and say hi to our new rookie (she can only use the “I don’t know, I’m new here” for about 2 to 3 years.)

Katlyn

Katlyn just finished her 3rd year at Sacramento State. When not attending Delta Gamma sorority parties, she can be seen some weekends and most summers at Oak Tree. When not out supporting the Oakland Athletics or buying Lotto tickets, you can find her at Oak Tree soaking up as much knowledge as possible to from all the doctors and staff to become a Veterinarian. Even though she knows it will take her about a decade to get this goal fulfilled (Good luck with that), she is quite determined. Having lived in Danville most of her life, the spoiled brat has had the privilege to have cruised around Europe three times and makes frequent trips to Disneyland and Disneyworld. Katlyn co-habits her parent’s house with 4 cats, Darien, Sabrina, Napoleon and Sydney, who were rescued from a dumpster.

Molly

Molly is one of our summer technicians. She is about to enter her sophomore year of college at Loyola Marymount University, majoring in psychology. She has lived her whole life in Orinda with her mom, dad, older sister and dog, Scout. She first came to Oak Tree to fulfill an internship for her senior year in high school which she chose for her curiosity in the veterinary field. At that time, Molly was also helping Dr. Endo with her turtles and that is how she was introduced to Oak Tree. Molly has always loved animals and prior to working at Oak Tree, she volunteered at ARF every Sunday since the 7th grade and at various other bay area shelters. She loves being active so sports and exercise are a big part of her life. Her only bad habit is eating sour candy (mostly Baby Bottle Pops) which she is embarrassingly addicted to. So if you want to get on her good side bring in a bag.
